our calling

The Church's Calling

As part of the Methodist Church in Britain, our calling as a church is to:

Increase awareness of God's presence and to
celebrate God's love . (Romans 8:31-39)
Help people to grow and learn as Christians
through mutual support and care. (Galatians 6:1-10)
Be a good neighbour to people in need
and to challenge injustice . (Matthew 25:31-46 , Luke 4:14-20)
Make more followers of Jesus Christ . (Matthew 28:16-20)

As members of the Methodist Church, we are called individually to:

Worship within the local church, including
regular sharing in Holy Communion and
through personal prayer.
Learning & caring , through Bible study and
meeting for fellowship, so that we may grow
in faith and support others in their discipleship.
Service , by being a good neighbour in the
community, challeging injustice and using
our resources to support the Church in its
mission in the world.
Evangelism , through working out our faith
in daily life and sharing Christ with others.
